Walking and running are a great way to keep active during the COVID-19 lock down. Here are some tips from to help you put your best foot forward.
- Footwear should have good support especially when walking often and for long distances on hard surfaces.
- Toe nails should be kept short and not rub against the top of the shoe.
- Stretching before long walks is recommended, especially for calves, glutes and thigh muscles.
- If it's been a while since you've exercised, start with short walks and build up to longer walks. Set goals as a fun way to feel a sense of achievement during the COVID-19 lock down.
